Surnames on marriage record (General)

I am a huge fan of your site. It is magnificent and helped me sort out my James family connection (three Richards married to three Anns in the same village!!).

I have another problem tho. My g g grandfather's marriage appears on your index at Awre, and his father is listed as 'Joseph'. But his baptism certificate at Coaley has only his unwed 'pauper' mother's name (Sarah Webb).

Do the original parish marriage records have surnames of the parents or just first names? If they do, I will have to chase that through the records office.
