With contributions from many people over several years the Parish Records projects has been substantially completed. This site now provides well over 1 million Baptism, Marriage and Burial records of Parish Churches and Non-conformist Chapels within the Forest of Dean. Also, we have many bordering Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Monmouthshire Parish Church records in the database. To access the list of transcribed records please click here .If you have an interest in a particular parish, the easiest way to find what records are available for that parish is to type the parish name in the search box in that list
Maintaining privacy
In order to protect the privacy of living people, not all of the Parish Records that we’ve transcribed are available to view on the Web site. Our policy is not to show records within the following cut off years – Baptisms 90 years and Marriages 70 years. Transcripts of all Burials are included in the database.
